TV presenter Stephen Mulhern is best known for making us belly-laugh on iconic shows, but did you know he was previously in a relationship with EastEnders legend Emma Barton?

Stephen Mulhern’s career began in the early 2000s as a children’s TV presenter. He worked alongside Holly Willoughby on CITV’s Finger Tips, and also presented the hugely popular magic show Tricky TV.

In recent years, Stephen became the new presenter of Catchphrase, and is often seen making Ant and Dec – and just about everyone else – laugh during appearances on Saturday Night Takeaway. He also works alongside Holly as the co-presenter of Dancing on Ice after replacing Phillip Schofield.

While his life away from the TV screen is often kept quiet, a small amount of information is known about Stephen’s relationship with Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell in EastEnders.

It is said the pair met while in a 2008 panto production of Snow White.

Emma played Snow White in the show, while Stephen portrayed the character of Muddles, with them reportedly getting on really well.

However, in 2011, the stars decided to end their relationship, with Stephen previously saying things came to a ‘natural end’ between them.

Emma is currently dating music producer Jason Perry. Back in May of last year, she posted a sweet photograph on her Instagram after spending a few days in Whitstable with her new partner.

Over in EastEnders, Emma’s character Honey has found a positive focus following the death of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

At Christmas, as the Mitchell family sat down to watch another video message from Lola, she revealed that Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Honey would be running the London Marathon together.

At the start of the year, it was confirmed the stars will be in character as they act out scenes for the programme, and members of the public will appear in the episode.

Executive producer Chris Clenshaw said that they were ‘thrilled to celebrate our city’ in what is ‘a landmark occasion in the capital’ before going on to promise ‘a never-before-seen glimpse of the momentous day’.

Both Jamie and Emma will be filmed as they run through the streets of London, meaning that anyone in the crowds of supporters cheering the runners on has the potential to be caught in the background and essentially make their EastEnders debut.
