Roy FINALLY Gets Good News! But Evelyn’s Coronation Street Celebration Ends in BLOODBATH!

Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) was left thrilled in recent Coronation Street scenes when she made a huge breakthrough with Roy Cropper (David Neilson – though there is horror on the way.

Roy has been having a hard time in prison, having been charged with the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

However, good friend Evelyn is determined to keep his spirits up, and recently decided to start a book club.

Over the phone, Evelyn and Roy discussed their book of choice, and though Roy made some insightful comments about the novel itself, the main takeaway of the call for Evelyn had nothing to do with the book.

‘He chuckled! He actually chuckled!’ She enthused after their call.

With Evelyn having made a huge breakthrough in lifting Roy’s spirits, things only seemed to get better when solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) revealed that she had managed to chase along the linguistics expert she had hired to analyse the messages sent to Lauren on her O-Vidz account.

The threatening messages weren’t written in the same style as Roy’s usual texts, which Dee-Dee was determined to prove to the courts.

Dee-Dee was certain that proving Roy hadn’t sent the messages would help his case greatly, though she was left concerned when she found out it would take three months to do the tests.

Though Roy admitted that he wasn’t going to get his hopes up, Evelyn and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were left feeling more positive.

However, little did they know, Roy was facing a worrying threat in prison.

Having been transferred to the same prison as Roy, it didn’t take long for Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) to bump into him.

There is horror ahead for Roy (Picture: ITV)Griff was an associate of Lauren’s dad, Reece Bolton, in his far-right extremist group.

With Roy as the number one suspect for Lauren’s murder, it was clear that Griff was planning something horrific, especially when he pulled a blade out from under his pillow.

In upcoming scenes, Griff is set to threaten Roy with the blade – will he make it out alive?
