ITV Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald brands himself ‘sexy Shakespeare’ as he gives Tracy a Valentine’s Day gift to remember
Hopeless romantic Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is still blissfully unaware that wife Tracy (Kate Ford) has engaged in a steamy affair with his footballing hero Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn).
Tracy and Tommy first crossed paths on Christmas Day when he called into the flower shop, and before long she’d employed him to decorate the master bedroom in her family home at No. 1.
Steve was overjoyed – there was simply nobody better for the job than retired Weathy County player Tommy O, and his presence in the street proved to be a huge hit with neighbours Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) and Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment).
But there was nobody more excited than Tracy, and with Steve jetting off to France to visit daughter Emma (Alexandra Mardell), it wasn’t long before she was letting the footballer dip his paint brush in her pot.
Since Steve’s return to the cobbles, he’s tried with no avail to spice up his marriage, putting on Parisian inspired lunches and buying her thoughtful presents.
In Wednesday’s (February 14) episode, their daughter Amy was dismayed to find that her mum hadn’t sent her dad a Valentine’s card – despite him putting pen to paper and writing his own heartfelt message in a card to her, branding himself “sexy Shakespeare”.
Well, when we say heartfelt…
‘Violets are blue, roses are thorny, be my Valentine because I is horny.’
Oh Steve.
Calling round to Preston’s Petals to question why her mum hadn’t splashed out for Valentine’s Day – she is a florist after all, she should know all about thoughtful romantic gifts – Amy found the cheaters in the midst of a heated argument.
