ITV Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn lifts lid on new romance with major TV star: ‘The happiest I’ve been’

Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has lifted the lid on her romance with Towie star Ricky Rayment.

The Sinead Tinker actress, 30 and the reality star, 33, sparked dating rumours after they were spotted out and about in Essex in February this year.

In one snap the pair were seen holding hands and sharing a kiss.

After the couple went Instagram official on Valentine’s Day, they shared insight into their blossoming romance and although the soap star is very much in love right now, she’s not hearing wedding bells just yet.

‘I’ve never thought about a proposal before – it’s not something I’ve dreamed about like other girls,’ she told OK! magazine

‘But we are very happy – the happiest I’ve been – and Ricky is very romantic. I know he would pull out all the stops. I live a normal life – I love being outdoors, I love peace and quiet. People see the glitz and the glamour but that’s just work.’

Ricky, who was on Towie from series four to 14, got engaged to Marnie Simpson, a cast member on Geordie Shore, in 2015, but the two broke up later that year.

After his stint on the reality show, the reality star decided to launch a fishing clothing line called Filthy Hooker.

Katie, meanwhile, played Sinead Tinker on Coronation Street between 2013 and 2020.

Following her departure, she joined Hollyoaks as scheming Becky Quentin, playing the character for a year.

The soap star also competed in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Gorka Marquez.

During the 2022 TRIC Awards she said she had an exciting year coming up with plenty of projects in the pipeline, telling the Sun Online, ‘I’ve got a lot of projects but I still can’t say for definite yet, but it’s going to be an exciting year. I have never planned my career.

‘I just love working. I want to stick with TV, Netflix, film. I would love to do anything to do with stage. At the moment I want to stick to drama and Netflix type stuff.’
