ITV Coronation Street spoilers – Sudden exit revealed as sinister cult takes hold

Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) fears for Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) future in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as she falls deeper into Rowan Cunliffe’s (Emrhys Cooper) cult.

The sinister conman has been holding destructive seminars at the Chariot Square Hotel for weeks, which have caught the attention of Leanne and her wayward son Simon Barlow (Alex Bain).

After finding himself developing a worrying reliance on alcohol, he accidentally crashed a car into a bollard causing step-brother Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) to suffer from concussion.

He was later handed a six month driving ban and 80 hour community service order in court.

Hearing about a self help group at the hotel, Leanne offered to drive him there but stayed around to meet the charismatic lecturer Rowan.

Glowing in their compliments, he invited the pair back to his next session.

Leanne arrived home and gushed to fiancée Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) about how insightful she found the meeting and he was relieved to see her so relaxed after a stressful few months.

In upcoming scenes, Toyah spots her sister watching another of Rowan’s motivational videos and remains sceptical about his teachings.

When Nick finds her with her eyes closed she explains that she’s ‘reality coding’ in an attempt to eliminate the unexpected.

Questioning Chariot Square owner Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) over Rowan’s motives, she tells Toyah that she’s relieved he’s leaving to the US as she’s sick of hearing his nonsensical ideologies.

When she catches him checking out, he begins to spout his usual reality coding spiel and she warns him that as a trained counsellor, she knows his words could prove to be damaging.

Back at Victoria Court, she warns Nick of his fraudulent behaviour and says she has fears that the Autovalent Institute may be preying on Leanne’s vulnerability to get hold of her cash.

Things go from bad to worse later in the week when Simon’s new business proposal for a food delivery app is met with a great reception from Leanne – could it be a plot to get her to invest in the Institute?

Has Simon fallen into Rowan’s trap?
