ITV Coronation Street spoilers: Sexually charged couple split after devastating exit is confirmed

Weatherfield’s hottest new couple have officially separated as Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) calls time on her promotion as Tommy Orpington’s (Matt Milburn) WAG in Coronation Street.

The two first got together earlier this year when the former footballer, now a painter, was employed to decorate Tracy’s bedroom.

When her husband Steve (Simon Gregson) went on a short holiday, Tommy saw Tracy as an open goal – and scored a hat trick.

Upon his return, Tracy tried to woo his wife – even going as far as proposing their renew their vows – unaware that she was engaging in a steamy affair.

When Steve found out, the floor dropped from beneath him but some news from best mate Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) soon put a smile on his face.

He’d heard on the grapevine that Tommy had signed a new deal to be assistant coach for a Spanish team.

Despite protests from his daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Steve couldn’t stop himself from exposing the secret to Tracy when he bumped into her in the Rovers.

Tracy had gone to chat with Daisy Midgley (Charlotte Jordan) about upping her social media game now that she was a ‘footballer’s wife’, but was left floored by the revelation.

Masking her devastation, she told Steve that she knew about Tommy’s plan to move away and that their relationship was nothing but a brief fling.

At the bistro, Tommy awaited her arrival for lunch, but when she turned up she presented him with a bunch of carnations (the national flower of Spain) and told him they were over.

Seeking opportunity for a reconciliation, Steve headed to Preston’s Petals and asked his wife to take him back, but she once again crushed his hopes and told him no.

Will Tommy come grovelling to Tracy, or will she decide to put her family first?
