ITV Coronation Street Spoilers: Michael Bailey’s vehement hate for Ed explodes over deadly fire

Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) recently found himself in deadly danger in Coronation Street. After he noticed smoke billowing from the builders’ yard he was terrified that his dad Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) might be trapped in the flames and rushed up the stairs into the building.

There was no sign of Ed, but Michael realised that his exit was blocked by flames and he was trapped. He desperately called for help, and luckily Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) spotted the fire and broke the door down just in time.

A fire officer who came to the scene said that the scene reeked of white spirit – and it looked like the fire had been started deliberately.

Of course the chief culprit would have to be Ed. We know that he’s been desperate for cash to pay off his gambling debts and his last hope was to sell the builders’ yard to Gary Windass (Mikey North), who decided not to go ahead.

Did Ed torch the yard to get the insurance money? That’s certainly what the police think in upcoming episodes as Ed is taken in for questioning.

He insists that he knocked the white spirit over by accident and didn’t start the fire deliberately.

Michael is totally unconvinced by Ed’s explanation. He’s sure that his dad set fire to the building deliberately – almost killing him in the process.

After all, a man who’s been desperate enough to pawn his own family’s Christmas presents after staging a fake burglary could be capable of anything.
