ITV Coronation Street spoilers: Gruesome discovery made in Lauren Bolton’s flat which proves something terrible happened

Carla Connor (Alison King) and Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) returned to the police station in Monday’s (March 11) episode of Coronation Street following Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance.

A few weeks ago, shortly after Lauren went missing from her flat, Bobby visited Craig (Colson Smith) who said the police would look into her suddenly leaving Weatherfield.

However, due to the fact there wasn’t any indication something sinister went on, and it was very early days, the police didn’t really do a great deal.

Tonight though, everything changed.

After Sean (Antony Cotton) visited Lauren’s flat to see if it would be suitable for him and Dylan (Liam McCheyne), he spotted blood on the curtains and the floor.

Once he expressed his concern to Carla, she found Bobby and they headed to see Craig and DS Swain (Vicky Myers) again.

After taking a look at the blood themselves, the duo returned to Weatherfield to speak with Bobby.

The concerned friend revealed information about the bruises on Lauren’s arm and the relationship she had with Roy (David Neilson).

A new path forming, Craig and Swain made their way to the café to speak with Roy. The kind-hearted character said he was at the flat simply to clear it up and help Evelyn (Maureen Lipman). He also revealed he was washing some of Lauren’s clothes, and that taking his fingerprints won’t be beneficial, as he had rubber gloves on while cleaning the flat.

After processing the information, Swain and Craig returned to the flat that evening.

As Max (Paddy Bever) and Bobby watched the police from the precinct, forensics were turning the place over and trying to find any clues to help work out why Lauren disappeared.

After Swain’s colleague confirmed some money had been found in the bedroom, the lights were then turned off in order to use luminol, which detects blood.

To Craig’s horror, there was a lot more blood on the curtain and floor than the team initially thought.

Due to the direction of the blood splatters and the amount that is there, the police officers are fully aware it wasn’t caused from something minor like a nosebleed.

But what happened to Lauren Bolton?

And where is she now?
