ITV Coronation Street confirms return of terrorist in murder story

Coronation Street has confirmed the return of Reece Bolton, with actor Scott Anson set to reprise his role next week.

Reece, as viewers will recall, was a member of the far-right extremist gang led by Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) which terrorised the residents of the cobbles between 2022 and 2023.

Lauren (Cait Fitton), Reece’s daughter, was manipulated and used by her dad to do the groups bidding, forging a connection with Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and subsequently starting a rivalry between he and Daryan Zahawi (Twana Omer).

Aya Nazir (Sair Khan), who had been targeted by the far-right group, long had her suspicions that Griff, Reece and his cronies couldn’t be trusted.

Her suspicions were proven correctwhen she found a bomb in a van outside Speed Daal and, determined to get it as far away as possible, she drove the vehicle out of the eponymous street, saving countless lives in the process.

Reece, meanwhile, was arrested alongside Griff, and he remains in prison for what he did.

The character, however, will make an on-screen comeback next week when Max visits in him in prison following news of Lauren’s disappearance.

Lauren, who has become a mainstay of the cobbles, vanished into thin air earlier this year, just hours after telling Roy that she was intending to leave.

Roy unfortunately winds up in the frame, after Bobby (Jack Carroll) reports his suspicions to the police, with the much-loved cafe owner left facing a life behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit.

Upcoming scenes will see Reece, having got wind of Roy’s implication in the crime, send two heavies to confront the show legend in his signature cafe, leaving Roy in serious danger.
