‘I killed him!’ Linda’s hysterical murder confession after message from Mick in EastEnders

The impact of Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) death continues to cause heartbreak for wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) over a year on from dramatic scenes that saw him go missing at sea.
With Father’s Day fast approaching, she emotionally confessed to mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) that she was struggling to cope with youngest son Ollie’s questions over his dad’s whereabouts.
To make matters worse, she’d had a vivid dream featuring Mick, with the two walking through a park together and eating chips.
After some discussion as to whether they should celebrate Father’s Day or not, the family agreed to a free ‘pie and pint’ initiative at the Queen Vic, and Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) agreed to drive some sales.
His plan? To get estranged son Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) off on a fishing trip with some other Walford locals and then to get the lads back to the pub afterwards to celebrate.
Whether or not Billy will agree to that, is another matter!
Later, fresh devastation was to arrive on Linda’s doorstep when Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) arrives to ask permission to hold brother Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) wake in the Vic on Thursday.
Linda froze in horror, unable to think of what to say – given she was the one who killed him!
Elaine swooped in, completely unaware of her daughter’s involvement in Keanu’s death, and offered the venue free of charge for after the funeral.
On the matter, Kellie Bright told us: ‘For Linda, it is her worst nightmare. So she’s worrying about how she’s going to get through the day. I think there is always something in her mind about Christmas – it’s a never ending nightmare,’
‘Of course there was always going to be a funeral, I just don’t think she’d thought that far ahead, and I certainly don’t think that she thought the wake would be in The Vic where she lives and where she killed him.’
Unable to cope with facing the situation head on, she rushed away and was later found collapsed in the barrel store by Johnny and close friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), sobbing.
As they picked her up, she began to scream ‘I killed him, it’s true, and I deserve to be punished!’
Could her actions from Christmas Day be about to be exposed?
