Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is shocked to learn Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) has been offered a new opportunity abroad in next week’s Coronation Street.
The two’s working relationship has been fractured in the last week, since she took the lead on an important meeting with client Rich (Jamie Cho) whilst he irresponsibly brought another client Rebecca (Gemma Merna) back to the office for some afternoon fun.
Sick of feeling underappreciated at Barlow Legal, she took the bold decision to leave after a tense argument.
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) scorned Adam for his attitude towards her, and he called round to No. 6 to apologise – but she wasn’t having any of it.
The next day they discovered that she had begun work for Rich’s firm Fabian’s, and had managed to poach their best client.
In an act of damage control he was adamant about getting her back on his good side and made her another lucrative offer to return, and this time she was tempted… but continued to play dirty.
In upcoming scenes, Alya calls at the solicitors for a client file and finds Adam struggling with the admin.
When he suggests to Dee-Dee that they pull out of any joint work with Fabian’s, Dee-Dee accuses him of being petty and to go ahead with his prearranged meeting with Rich.
During the chat, Alya drops a bombshell – she’s going to work in Dublin!
Determined to impress her, Adam hands over a summary of their joint case and as they begin to repair their working relationship, the two share a knowing look at each other.
In the biggest twist of the week, he then admits his feelings to Alya and just as the two share a kiss, Rich walks in.

We know that this story has been devised to facilitate actress Sair Khan’s maternity leave, so if they are to become Weatherfield’s hottest couple, he could have some waiting around for their next kiss!
