Kevin Webster is crushed as Abby leaves Coronation Street behind after a traumatic event. To say Abby Webster has been through a lot in recent weeks in Coronation Street is a little bit of an understatement.
During a mundane afternoon at home, Abby was listening to the radio and heard a presenter talking about a documentary on a prison football team that featured Corey Brent, the young man who killed her son Seb.
After Abby campaigned to stop the production company from airing the documentary, she then discovered someone had created deepfake pornographic videos of her and shared them online. Abby and Kevin Webster turned to Max Turner for help, thinking they could find the person responsible, but it was basically the equivalent of looking for a needle in a haystack.
Eventually, after Bethany revealed more about her new job at a magazine outlet, Abby did some digging and discovered Corey’s father, Stefan, was involved not only in the magazine business but the production company too. Convinced Stefan was responsible for the deepfakes, Abby reported him to DS Wayne.
In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Kevin tells Tyrone that Stefan has agreed to remove the videos. However, he then approaches the mechanic and says the deal is off because he’s not willing to pay £60,000 per year to remove them.
Towards the end of the week, feeling stressed and overwhelmed, Abby explains to Kevin that she needs to get away for a few days. She’s going to stay with her twins and their adoptive mother Lindsay.
As Abby leaves Weatherfield, Kevin does his best to remain positive. But what state will their relationship be in when Abby returns?
