ITV Coronation Street spoilers: Paul Foreman reveals his end of life plan to another two residents – and comes to a big conclusion

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) spent the day with Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) in Tuesday’s (January 23) Coronation Street, which led to an emotional discovery.

The trio headed off in an old campervan Bernie had got from a prison mate. Gemma and Paul weren’t really looking forward to their evening, and matters were made worse when it became apparent Bernie had got them all lost.

As night fell, Bernie, Gemma and Paul ended up in the middle of a field and stuck in some mud.

Back in Weatherfield, a worried Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) had no idea where Paul had gone. He had spent the day in Sheffield with Summer (Harriet Bibby) and when he returned, he couldn’t get hold of Paul due to a poor phone signal.

With no-one to put his mind at ease, Billy then opened a cupboard door and realised the benzo tablets were missing, unaware Todd (Gareth Pierce) had hidden them for Paul yesterday.

When Billy’s call eventually went through, it was picked up by Gemma, who heard him talking about drugs.

Paul quickly cut the call, but then faced Bernie and Gemma’s concerned looks as they wondered what Billy was referring to.

With no choice, Paul explained his assisted dying plan to Bernie and Gemma. They were overwhelmed with emotion and, just like Billy a few weeks ago, couldn’t understand why Paul had reached this decision.

A little while later, as Bernie and Gemma looked up at the stars, they decided that they must support Paul and respect his choices.

As the sun started to rise, focus turned to how on earth the family would get home.

Fortunately, after an awkward encounter with a group of rugby players, Gemma had an idea.

She instructed the men to push the front of the campervan and eventually, it was free from the mud.

On the way, however, Paul checked his phone and announced they needed to go home via Weatherfield General.

Resting in a hospital bed was Billy, who had hurt his back after getting drunk in the pub and dancing with Carla (Alison King).

Paul smiled when he arrived and was pleased to see his partner.

After revealing how Bernie and Gemma now know about his secret, Paul then reached a huge conclusion.

Reflecting on how fun it was to make memories with his mum and sister, watch muscly men fall into some mud, and attend the hospital because his husband hurt his back doing Bumps, Paul smiled and said:

‘I’m not ready to go anywhere. Not yet’.
