BREAKING NEWS Coronation Street spoilers – Killer Stephen Reid haunts Bethany Platt as she makes a discovery

He might be dead (don’t worry – he is dead), but evil serial killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) still manages to make his presence felt in upcoming Coronation Street episodes – and as usual whenever Stephen’s name is mentioned this means somebody is going to end up in deep trouble.

Currently, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) are treading on eggshells after Daisy was forced to tell her mum, Christina (Amy Robbins), the truth about how she managed to fund the purchase of the Rovers.

After Stephen’s death it was discovered that he’d embezzled the factory of a huge sum of money. Eventually Carla (Alison King) accepted that she’d never get the money back as Stephen had hidden it in a secret account.

That was when Daisy discovered a clue to the secret account hidden in Stephen’s journal. Jenny already had Stephen’s laptop, and it was an easy job to get into the account and transfer all the money.

Bethany finds Stephen's journal while in the pub back room in Coronation Street.

Reasoning that Carla had already made up her losses by other means, Daisy had no qualms about using the money herself to buy the pub.

But even if Christina keeps quiet, there’s someone else in the Street who is starting to get very suspicious of Daisy – Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

When Bethany sees Daisy on her way home from what looks like a marathon and expensive shopping expedition, she’s intrigued. Daisy says she got everything from charity shops in Alderley Edge, but Bethany’s not convinced.

When she overhears Jenny telling Daisy off for her conspicuous consumption, saying that they need to keep a low profile, Bethany wonders whether Daisy is hiding a bigger secret.

She takes the opportunity to offer to help Daisy cook a special dinner at the Rovers, but when Daisy is distracted Bethany deliberately sabotages the apple pie that was supposed to be for dessert.

Finding the pie burned to a crisp, Daisy heads out to buy a replacement.

While Bethany is on her own she quickly goes through the drawers at the Rovers – and finds Stephen’s journal.

As Bethany leafs through the pages of her great-uncle’s journal, she starts to put two and two together – and it looks like Daisy and Jenny are in for a very uncomfortable time.

Is their secret about to be exposed?
