BREAKING NEWS: BBC EastEnders star apologises to fans for not being dead

EastEnders star Navin Chowdhry has issued an apology to fans that his character Nish Panesar hasn’t died yet.

Last year, EastEnders kept the nation gripped with their unique take on a whodunnit, which flashed forward 10 months into the future to show The Six gathered around a ‘dead’ body on the floor.

On Christmas Day, we finally learnt what really went down, and discovered that Nish was the man on the floor – though he didn’t stay dead for long, in a huge twist.

While Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) did CPR and managed to revive her abusive husband, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stabbed Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) in the hallway.

Since waking up from his coma following the events of that day, Nish has been determined to get to the bottom of what really happened, leaving The Six terrified that he is set to uncover the truth about Keanu’s murder.

This storyline has been a huge talking point among fans, with many having hoped that Nish would ‘get what he deserves’ following his vile abuse of wife Suki.

But with the villain still on the Square, and set to continue his violent behaviour, actor Navin Chowdhry has apologised to fans for Nish not having died during those dramatic Christmas Day episodes.

‘I am aware that everyone wanted him to die at Christmas. I apologise to the audience that I’m still around!’ Navin told the Daily Star.

He went on to reveal that he has received some backlash from fans, telling the publication: ‘There has been the odd comment, there are a few unfriendly messages I’ve been on the receiving end of. But most people get it.’

In upcoming scenes, Nish is set to get even worse, as he attacks two of Albert Square’s most popular characters: Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Suki.

‘There have been moments when we’ve had scenes and I’ll speak to the producer and I’ll say, “I’m going to have to go on the school run and you’re making me beat up every woman on Albert Square”. I’ve been scared,’ Navin revealed.

With Nish having cemented himself as a true EastEnders villain, how long will it be before he gets his comeuppance – or could he be set to get away with it all?
