Coronation Street welcomes back a face from the past who is going to have a huge impact on Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs’ (Jenny McAlpine and Alan Halsall) future next week.
As our spoiler videos for next week reveal, Fiz is stunned when she bumps into Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) in Fresco’s car park, with Tyrone’s ex back in Weatherfield to give evidence at the trial of the traffickers who brought her to the UK. But it soon becomes clear there’s something quite big she’s hiding.
Meanwhile, Lauren Britton (Cait Fitton) is anxiously waiting for news on her newborn baby, after evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill) piled her with drugs to send her into early labour on Friday.
However, she faces more anguish when he pops by the maternity ward, it isn’t long before he’s making demands to help cover his tracks.
There’s also a shock in store for Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) next week as she gets dragged further and further into cult The Institute.

Lauren is terrified as her prematurely born son lies in an incubator when she gets a visit from Joel in the maternity ward, who gives her a new phone.
He offers his support, but only if she deletes the incriminating email that she had scheduled to send to the police about him, which was scheduled to send after she’d escaped his evil clutches to Ireland.
Will she comply to his latest demands?

Major Return and Joel’s Evil Plan
During a trip to the supermarket, Fiz’s awkwardly encounters Tyrone’s ex Alina, who was last seen in on the cobbles back in 2021 when their short-lived relationship came to an end. At the time, it was heavily hinted that Alina was pregnant with his baby, despite telling him she wasn’t. But when Fiz spots a little boy on Alina’s phone wallpaper, her worst fears look to be confirmed.
Alina explains that she’s in the UK for the trial of her traffickers, but is heading back to Romania the next day – but something tells us this isn’t the last we’ve seen of her…
Friday August 9
Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) is back in Weatherfield having been at The Insitute’s business retreat and seems positive and energiesed as she chats to an impressed Leanne.
She is then left speechless when Rowan Cuncliffe (Emrhys Cooper) reveals that Institute boss Willow wants her to run their resource centre. Leanne is then extra excited when he tells her that they’re meeting another potential investor later that day.
