Denzel encounters difficulties at school, and Yolande clarifies that the fear of being abandoned by both Kim and Howie is making him vulnerable. Kim gets overwhelmed by guilt. The pair contemplates turning down the job offer and staying in Walford. However, Denzel assures them he’ll be alright and tells them to seize the opportunity of a lifetime.

Soon, Kim faces another hurdle: her sister, Denise Fox. The effects of the Christmas Day fallout don’t seem to wear off on Denise, who is stressed out. Kim is worried about her sister’s well-being as she knows that Denise has recently witnessed Nish’s near-death incident. Kim believes that Denise might be experiencing PTSD.
When Kim brings up Christmas, Denise loses it and leaves. Concerned for Denise, Kin decided against the job offer. However, Denise convinces her sister that she is frustrated by her troubled marriage. Denise insists that Kim proceeds with the offer.

Empson is stepping away from the soap to star in the Theatre Royal Stratford East’s production of The Big Life. Meanwhile, a glance at Delroy Atkinson’s IMDb shows the actor has also been working on a new project titled “A Christmas Carol.” He is set to play Mr. Thwaites in the ongoing production.
