BBC EastEnders fans work out new story for Linda Carter after throwaway scene – and it’s heartwrenching

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been at the centre of some of EastEnders’ most dramatic storylines over the years, but now fans of the show think that they have worked out her next devastating storyline after a throwaway scene.

After stabbing Keanu Taylor to death on Christmas Day, Linda’s alcoholism got much worse, and she has since been drinking daily to try and forget.

But Linda isn’t the only alcoholic to have been landlady of the Queen Vic, with many fans often highlighting the similarities between her and original landlady Angie Watts.

In a recent throwaway scene, fans once again drew similarities between Linda and Angie, when Linda drunkenly stumbled into the railings in the Square, in the exact spot Angie had done over 30 years before.

The similarities between Linda and Angie have left fans wondering if Linda could end up suffering a similar fate to the iconic publican in a devastating new storyline.

Viewers will know that Angie sadly died as a result of her drinking, when she succumbed to cirrhosis of the liver in 2002, with daughter Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) by her side.

Taking to Twitter/X, fans have expressed their concerns that Linda may end up going the same way, and will soon need a liver transplant.

After posting a comparison of the two scenes, user Alessia wrote: ‘Someone help our Linda PLEASE or that liver failure will keep looming closer’.

Solar shared the sentiment, writing: ‘I wonder if EastEnders is deliberately making all these parallels between Angie and Linda, like it can’t all just be a coincidence’.

Could Linda’s alcoholism lead to a devastating storyline that could see her life put at risk?

With Sharon being Linda’s best friend, could history be set to repeat itself as she loses another loved one to liver cirrhosis?
