BBC EastEnders airs another major twist for Linda Carter – as a shocking fate is ‘sealed

This article contains spoilers from Wednesday’s (April 10) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders has aired another huge twist for Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) following the discovery of Keanu Taylor’s body – and it may be enough to get her off the hook for his murder.

Viewers will know that Linda stabbed Keanu to death on Christmas Day in order to save best friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), before the rest of The Six helped to hide the body.

With Keanu’s body having been finally discovered, police promptly arrested Sharon, and the race was on for Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) to get her released before she came clean about what really happened.

While the rest of The Six had their own plan to use the murder weapon to frame Linda should it come to it, she stopped them in their tracks by revealing that she planned to hand herself into the police.

Thankfully, a new opportunity soon presented itself to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), who informed Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she planned to plant the weapon in Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) flat, in order to frame him.

In Wednesday’s episode, Linda was horrified by the decision, and insisted that two wrongs don’t make a right.

However, it was too late for her to argue, as Stacey had already done the deed, and dropped the meat thermometer into Dean’s cutlery drawer when he wasn’t looking.

As Johnny tried to come up with a story they could stick to that would make Dean a realistic suspect, the women agreed to anonymously tip off the police over the phone.

While Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy and Stacey argued over who would make the call and how, Linda expressed her concern that police may view it as a prank call, and not investigate before Dean fled the country with daughter Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green).

Linda’s concerns were soon brushed off, and the women agreed that Suki would make the anonymous tip off.

Later, as the women headed out, Johnny stopped them, having received an unexpected phone call from Linda.

Sitting in the police interrogation room, Linda admitted that she’d done something that would make Johnny angry, and that they wouldn’t need to make the phone call after all.

Her decision came after a confrontation with Dean, in which he mocked her alcoholism and made it clear that he believed he could get away with everything he’d done in the past.

Is Linda set to go against The Six’s plan and frame Dean herself? Or could she be about to tell police what really happened on Christmas Day?
