Abi & Kevin RAGE! Deepfake Nightmare Escalates as They UNLEASH on Unlikely Suspect (You Won’t Believe Who!)

Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) has lost her job at Webster’s Autocentre in Coronation Street – after making cruel comments surrounding Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman-Duttine) deepfake porn drama.

It’s been a disastrous month for Abi, who discovered that an independent production company had made a documentary series following her son’s killer Corey Brent’s footballing success behind bars.

Furious, she stormed into the producer’s office and demanded it be taken down, but it was too late as it had been delivered to the broadcaster weeks before.

Adamant to make a change, Nina contacted Suki Waters (Laura Littlewood) from the Weatherfield Gazette, who arranged for Abi to speak candidly about her son’s death in a video interview.

However, things were about to take a more sinister turn when her old drug dealer Dean Turnbull (Anthony Crank) turned up at the garage and demanded money from her. Abi was quick to shut him down, she threatened him not to show his face and sent him on his way as Cassie watched on.

Later in the day, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) opened up the work email account to see someone had forwarded a sex tape, featuring Abi – and it quickly spread online, including in the comments section of her appeal video.

Having no recollection of it ever being made, she assumed that it was recorded when she was high on heroin.

It later became clear that it was part of a cruel deepfake attack, and in Monday, June 3’s episode another video was posted online.

At the garage, two teenagers arrived and began filming Abi, causing her to lash out.

Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) recalled the time a naked video of Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) was spread online, and suggested that she place a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown on the videos to prevent them being viewed.

This procedure would ask an internet service provider or search engine to remove or disable access.

Elsewhere, the deepfakes were talk of the street, and Cassie told Tyrone that it wouldn’t surprise her if they were authentic, and that Abi was too drugged up to remember it.

Having been overheard, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) ordered her to leave – and to her surprise, Tyrone agreed.

Will Cassie find herself able to apologise?
