ITV Coronation Street icon Roy Cropper set to face jail in courtroom twist as grim story ‘confirmed’ for cafe owner
Roy Cropper’s freedom is at stake in Coronation Street as the much-loved cafe owner is forced to appear in court as part of an upcoming storyline.
David Neilson, who plays the long-serving favourite, was spotted on-location filming scenes for the ITV soap with various cast and crew members as the big and mysterious story kicks off.
What exactly warrants a court appearance for well-meaning Roy remains to be seen but it appears to be a very serious matter, with both Alison King and Mollie Gallagher, who play Carla Connor and Nina Lucas respectively, present during the shoot.
Carla, as viewers know, is one of Roy’s most-trusted confidantes while Nina is his niece, who has lived with him for five years.
Roy evidently needs all the support he can get at this upsetting time!
Callum Lill, who plays solicitor Joel Deering, was also snapped during filming, so it’s likely that the character is on hand to represent our Roy.
But just what is going on? That is the question! Roy is no stranger to making courtroom appearances, but it’s usually from the gallery to support a loved one so this really is a big shock.
